A new look at how to start studying Japanese

This week I rewrote my articles on how to start studying Japanese. I started studying Japanese eight years ago, and it's interesting for me to consider what I would do differently given the chance.

More than anything, I'm incredibly grateful that my first Japanese teacher was excellent. In fact, it was never my dream to speak Japanese; I only started studying in college because I had to take a foreign language class to graduate. However, my experience was so positive that here I am today, living in Tokyo and working as a translator.
