どんな時どう使う vs A dictionary of Intermediate/Advanced Japanese Grammar

I recently bought both books Kanji in Context (reference book) and Workbook 1.
I am in the level that I get 50% of what the phrases in these books say, but I notice that I need to practice more my grammar which is my weak point.
Kanjis I can learn them quite fast as you have said "through practice" but for grammar I do need some good books. Now I am learning with Japanese in Mangaland 1 and 2 and also i have their respectives workbook. They are pretty good books but I really want to focus more in grammar now than read examples from manga.
I want to ask you which book should I buy "A Dictionary of Intermediate Japanese Grammar" or どんな時どう使う.
So could you please tell me which are the pros and cons of these two books.

If you can only buy one
If you can only buy one book, get どんな時どう使う. It's cheaper, it's specifically targeted for the JLPT, and it has lots of great example sentences.
The Dictionary of Japanese Grammar series is better suited for a real study of Japanese grammar, rather than prep for the JLPT. The explanations in those books are useful for actually learning to use the grammar, but unnecessary for the JLPT, and in any case the books are quite expensive.
There's a quick impression from someone who owns and has read all four books.

Well I am going to take the 3kyuu this year, the 2kyuu next year and so on. So you say that I would better buy the どんな時どう使う???
Or would be better to buy bought.
Also I wanted to ask you if the A Dictionary of Intermedia Japanese grammar takes from 3kyuu to 2kyuu? or just 3kyuu?

The Dictionary of Basic
The Dictionary of Basic Japanese Grammar should be sufficient for 3kyuu. You will need both the Intermediate and Advanced books to cover the 2kyuu and 1kyuu. That's why I recommend getting only どんな時どう使う.
However, if you are still studying for the 3kyuu, you probably don't need so many grammar books. A few decent Japanese textbooks should probably be sufficient. Of course, if you dislike textbooks, then I'd pick up どんな時どう使う.
Disclaimer- I assume you are talking about the new, more difficult 3kyuu, but I haven't taken that, as I had already passed the 1kyuu before it was introduced. So, I may be off the mark here.
